Recent tragedies in New York and Washington D.C. gave Maker's Mark another reason to exhibit their American spirit in fashion, releasing triple-dipped bottles in red, white and blue wax.
Maker's gave away the limited edition bottles at events, and online users who visited Maker's web site received a free poster of the limited edition bottle. Collectors purchased the bottle on eBay bidding anywhere from $50 - $150. Today triple-dipped Maker's Mark is sold at duty free airport stores throughout the United States for exactly the same price as regular 1.0 liter bottles.
Each bottle is hand sealed by the staff in Loretto, Kentucky where Maker's Mark distillery is located.
"Each bottle has a different personality that is expressed in the way the wax drips. This is just another step in our process where people, not machines, control the quality of our product," says Bill Samuels Jr., President of Maker's Mark.
To Samuels, it's not just another corporate branding. It's a gift from his mother, who designed the bottle after studying her collection of old cognac bottles. Ever since, Maker's kept her contribution to carry the family business.
Maker's Mark distillery provides free distillery tour, which includes hand-dipping experience at the shop. For those who can't make it to Loretto, you can download Maker's desktop image in various sizes.

1. Begin by clicking on your computer's resolution for the preferred image. The majority of screens are set at 800x600.
